Worked under the guidance of seasoned professionals to build two responsive front-end pages involved in the checkout process of the online shopping app ‘Aura’. This task required developing API endpoints for the different brands offered on the app and display that information in the customer’s cart.
While the front end was primarily developed using React Native, I utilized Redux for state management to ensure users carts remained consistent throughout the checkout process. At the checkout page, Firebase was utilized as a real-time database for product inventory and stored order details.
This experience improved my communication and teamwork skills as I attended meetings and presented our work for feedback. Further, it provided practical application of my computer science knowledge and developed soft skills essential to my future career.

I was tasked with providing guidance and support to new UBC Science students in their transition to
university life. My priority was to provide a familiar face to new students and foster a welcoming
environment which promotes community engagement. This helped develop my leadership and
interpersonal skills. Further, I was required to collaborate with a team of Orientation Leaders and staff
to ensure we were able to provide a setting where new students felt comfortable.

At Cisco, I shadowed various departments and learned about their day-to-day operations, with a focus on the latest technologies. I worked with sales, marketing, research and development, and customer service teams, gaining a well-rounded understanding of Cisco. I expanded my knowledge through training sessions and workshops on 5G, edge computing, and industry transformation. The internship was an invaluable hands-on experience that taught me from industry experts.
